Come slowly, Eden!

COME SLOWLY, EDEN!

by: Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)

COME slowly, Eden!
Lips unused to thee,
Bashful, sip thy jasmines,
As the fainting bee,

Reaching late his flower,
Round her chamber hums,
Counts his nectars--enters,
And is lost in balms!

  1. I love Emily Dickinson simply because she was nuts. :D And she hated doctors as much as I do--apparently her "check ups" consisted of the doctor being told to wait in a chair and Emily would walk past the doorway naked. That was the extent of the exam.
